With arts and education cuts, you need to find activities to engage and spark your child in these crucial years of mental, physical and emotional development – because they are growing now, and they can’t wait.

We know the arts help children develop literacy, motor skills, problem-solving, confidence, persistence, teamwork – and help kids imagine new possibilities.

So we’ve asked Visual, Literary and Performing Artists to share their skills! You’ll find fascinating, age-appropriate activities that kids can do at home, in classrooms, libraries, hospitals and community centers, with friends and family members of all ages and abilities, clubs and your own homemade arts education gatherings.

Two Songs at the Same Time!

Actors Vickie Daignault and Jan Neuberger demonstrate a fun exercise you can practice with a friend – singing different songs at the same time!

This exercise trains you to stay focused and keep singing your song, and not let the other actor drag you into their song. It’s a great way to build concentration as an actor or musical theater performer, and you’ll probably drive your family crazy as you do it.

In this video, Jan and Vickie also explain how acting is all about listening, playing, being spontaneous and having fun.

You can share a photo or video of your Two Songs at the Same Time on our Contact page :)
